After a horrible summer and fall of diving was ruined by the discharges from Lake Okeechobee, I had to take time off and fight to clean up the waters. You might have seen some of our advocacy in the press or on TV. We were busy. Here are some of the events we have in the works and coming up:
April 26th: Spoil Island cleanup from 9am until mid-afternoon… leaving from the Town of St Lucie Village’s marina on Torpey Rd at 9am. Wear shoes that can get wet but will protect you some. Bring gloves, bug spray and tools to cut and saw invasive trees. We will remove them and trash as well. We expect River Kidz, Troop 772 and loads of warriors to help, so it should be a fun time. We are hoping to have a cookout at lunch and spend some time talking to the kids and bring them up to speed on conservation methods, the waters, fishing and anything water.
